[内容摘要]由于适应了改革时代摧毁保守主义思潮、为社会改革奠定理论基础的需要，也由于它适合美国人的民族特性，实用主义理论在19世纪末20世纪初崛起于美国理论界，并与其他进步主义思潮一起，掀起了一场影响广泛的思想革命。

A Tentative Study of the American Pragmatism
[Abstract]Since it fit in with the needs of smashing the conservative thoughts and laying a foundation for social reforms in the reform age, and since it harmonized with the American national characters, pragmatism rose abruptly in the American academic circles, and, along with other progressive opinions, brought about a widespread revolution of social thoughts.
